Dr. Leelannee K. Malin is a savvy, sassy and smart communications practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in the communications industry. As the owner of Malin PR, a public relations consulting practice, she provides services in the Sports & Entertainment, Non Profit and Corporate Communications sectors while specializing in brokering community partnerships in the educational and sporting arenas. Her professional credits include managing projects with the NFL Players Association, IMPACT, The Miss USA franchise, Essence Music Festival Marketplace, MTV, professional athletes and government agencies. Her professional efforts have garnered her the honor of being selected as Prince George’s County Maryland, Forty Under 40 and a DMV Power Woman in Sports & Entertainment.

Armed with a B.A. in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University, an M.A. in Organizational Communications from Bowie State University, a Ph.D. in Mass Communications Media Studies from Howard University and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Tucks School of Business; Dr. Malin is committed to cultivating the next generation of industry leaders through her work as a practitioner and academician. She has worked in the roles of lecturer and sequence coordinator in the Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communications and served as a visiting lecturer at Xavier University and Georgetown University. During her tenure at Howard, she has also served as Associate Dean for Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships, the Director of the Annenberg Honors Program, directed the CapComm Lab student run Integrated Marketing firm and served as advisor for Adopt-A-Team Programs supporting partnerships with NBC Universal and CBS.

Dr. Malin’s research, writing and speaking agenda include gender stereotypes, television and film studies, leadership communication, social media, strategic communication, sport and the popular culture. Her research and writings have been featured in the League of Women in Government, the National Black Public Relations Society, the University of Texas @ Austin, George Mason University and Georgetown University. The intersection of her business and academic savvy extends beyond the classroom. Dr. Malin uses her professional practice to offer professional development support and advisement to her peers in the industry in her role as President on the executive board of the DC Chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE), served on the educational advisory board for the Newseum and is a mentor for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) annual Student Multimedia Projects program.

A NOLA girl at heart, Dr. Malin now resides in Maryland continuing to love all things New Orleans, including black and gold, charbroiled oysters and café au lait.

Jaylin Paschal is a creative strategist based in New York City. She graduated Summa Cum  Laude from Howard University, where she studied strategic communication and graphic  design. At Howard, Jaylin served as the Editor-in-Chief of ​The Hilltop ​ , leading the  publication to being awarded HBCU Digest’s Student Newspaper of the Year in 2019. She  is currently a candidate for a Master of Science in Strategic Communication at Columbia  University in the City of New York. She’s worked on brand strategy and campaign creative  at companies like Spotify, ​The Atlantic ​ , and 72andsunny. With a passion for  problem-solving, her work has been in service of global brands like Google, Mastercard,  Smirnoff, Axe, and Doritos. The Ohio native also writes a cultural analysis blog which  discusses the many intersections of Hip Hop culture and marketing. Her written work has  been featured in publications such as ​Essence Magazine ​ and ​The Lily by The Washington  Post ​ . A writer at heart, Jaylin is committed to nuanced storytelling – whether through  brand initiatives, design, or cultural commentary. As the CEO of Jaylin Paschal Design Services, she provides design consultations and develops marketing collateral for Malin PR clients.
